Weather Update: Rain Showers....Snow Showers...?

Well, not much has been going on with the weather that's why we haven't been updating this website or our MySpace lately.

We have both good news and bad news to share...

That bad news is New Bedford and surrounding areas will be getting a lot of rain and possibly seeing some thunder showers on Friday night. Thursday morning we're looking at getting some patchy fog before 9:00 a.m. then slowly becoming partly cloudy with some sun pulling through the cloud cover by the afternoon, in the early evening probably around 4:00 p.m. we're likely to start seeing some precipitaion starting as a drizzle early on and then becoming a full blown rain shower by midnight. Winds will also begin to start picking up possible gusts of 15mph. The rain will continue into Friday morning taking breaks early on and then by 10:00 a.m. picking back up to a normal rain shower, it will do this all through Friday night and we'll probably see a thunder storm before 9:00 p.m. Wind gusts during the day could range between 18-22mph and at night we could be seeing gusts up to 45mph, so be carefull driving on the roads. The temperatures will stay mild around 50 degrees.
Saturday and Sunday is looking clear right now.

The good news is New Bedford and surrounding areas will likely see a snow shower on Sunday night, right now there's only a 40-50% chance of this happening but it's looking like we're in for a good snow. If it does snow it should last until Monday morning and possibly carry on into the mid-day, if the temperatures raise on Monday then the snow will change to rain if it stays at a good temperature it's likely that we will see snow for a good part of Monday. If we're lucky, the snow is possible to continue into early Monday evening or start back up in time for the evening lows, but if it's rain then it might change back to snow and finish off before midnight on Monday.

We're still watching this storm system closely, if it changes or if the percentages drop then I will edit this weather bulletin with the correct information. Remember, the snow is still being watched but since yesterday the percentages of it happening has raised, so hopefully we will see New Bedford's first snow of the season on this Sunday the 3rd of December.

Thank you!
